構造への、ひとつの回答。

「セルビッジを維持したまま、裾を強く絞り込む」

ジーンズの構造上、本来は避けるべきこの矛盾を

パターンの設計で解決しました。

意図したのはジーンズとしての無骨さを保ちながら

スラックスのような端正なラインを描くこと。

クリースステッチ

前後に入れたクリースをステッチで固定しています。

デニムが色落ちし表情を変えていく過程を考慮し、

縫製糸には経年褪色するスミクロの綿糸を選びました。

年月が経ち、生地が馴染んだ後も、

このラインは静かな影として残ります。

縫製の背景

すべて大戦期頃のヴィンテージミシンを用い、

6番から30番の綿糸100%で縫い上げています。

現代の効率とは相反する性能の道具ですが

私たちが考える“今この瞬間で最高の一品”には

これらのミシンが刻む力強いリズムが必要でした。

セルビッジ・テーパード

サイドを見ていただければしっかりとしたテーパードでありながら

裾までセルビッジ（耳）が通っているのがわかります。

“常識”を少しだけ疑って

ジーンズという枠組みの中でできることを形にしました。

気負わず、日々の道具として穿いていただければ幸いです。

One approach to structure.

"Maintaining the selvedge while applying a sharp taper to the hem."

In terms of jeans construction, this is a contradiction usually avoided.

We solved this through the design of the pattern itself.

Our intent was to create a clean, trouser-like silhouette

while preserving the rugged character of authentic jeans.

Crease Stitch

The creases at the front and back are permanently fixed with stitching.

Anticipating how the denim will fade and evolve over time,

we chose a charcoal cotton thread.

Even years later, as the fabric breaks in, this line will remain as a subtle shadow.

The Craft

Every pair is sewn using vintage sewing machines

from the WWII era, with 100% cotton thread ranging from #6 to #30 .

These tools are a world away from modern efficiency,

yet their powerful rhythm was essential to bring this specific design to life.

Selvedge Taper

If you look closely at the side profile,

you will notice that despite the strong taper,

the selvedge remains intact all the way to the hem.

By questioning the "standard" way of doing things,

we have shaped what is possible within the framework of jeans.

オリジナルデニムを作るにあたり

・インディゴの色味

・糸の原料や形状

・織のテンション

・生地の仕上げ

全てにわがままを言いました。

インディゴの色味は染料に含まれる

赤味の成分を可能な限り取り除き、

経年変化した本藍の様な色味になるようにしています。

糸の原料・形状は経糸には不均一なムラが出る7.5/1で紡績し、

緯糸には綿花の原種に近い〈茶綿〉を使用し、

経糸よりも少しだけ均一なムラの7.5/1を使用しています。

経の緑味に振ったインディゴと

緯の茶綿の赤味が陰影をつくり

経年後も奥行きのある色味になるようにしています。

構築的なパターンが多い事もあり、織のテンションはやや緩めにしつつ

経68本・緯46本と経の割合が多くなる設計にています。

着用時間が増えてこなれてくると

張りのあるシルエットが

オチ感に変わっていくような設計です。

生地の仕上げは製織の毛羽をあえて残しつつ、

サンフォライズ加工と防捻加工（スキュー）をし、

ビンテージな見た目ながら立体的なパターンを引き立てる生地にしています。

Original Okayama Denim

In creating our original denim, we made no compromises.

We demanded perfection in every detail: the shade of indigo,

the raw materials and shape of the yarn, the weaving tension,

and the final finish of the fabric.

The Indigo

For the indigo, we removed as much of the red pigment as possible.

Our goal was to achieve a deep, clear blue that evolves

into the serene tone of aged natural indigo (Hon-Ai).

The Yarn

• Warp (Vertical):

We spun a 7.5/1 count yarn with irregular slubs

to create a distinct, rugged texture.

• Weft (Horizontal)

We used "Brown Cotton" (an ancestral variety close to the original cotton plant),

spun into a 7.5/1 yarn with slightly more uniform slubs than the warp.

The interplay between the green-cast indigo of the warp

and the natural reddish-brown of the weft

creates a profound sense of depth—a shadow and light that only intensifies with age.

The Weave & Density

Considering our highly structural patterns, we kept the weaving tension slightly loose

while maintaining a high warp-to-weft density (68 warp ends / 46 weft picks).

This design ensures that while the silhouette starts with a crisp, architectural tension,

it gradually softens into a beautiful, fluid "drape" as it breaks in over time.

The Finish

We intentionally left the natural hairiness from the weaving process intact,

while applying Sanforization (pre-shrinking) and Skew (anti-twist) processes.

The result is a fabric that possesses a vintage soul yet perfectly complements

and holds our three-dimensional, tailored patterns.
